Damaging Your Car at the Car Wash

Although its important to keep your car clean and free of road salt during these cold months, you need to ensure that you’re not damaging your finish in the process. I always discourage the use of brush washes, make every effort to only use a touch free tunnel wash, if you must use an automated wash.  Hand washing your car outdoors isn’t an option at this time of year (its -12°F as I write this), but with a garage and a couple extra layers you can do it yourself at home with my winter wash tutorial.  Too often do I see my friends or customers taking their cars to the “do it yourself” wash bays, thinking that they’re taking good care of their prized vehicle.  This video is by Bon Vivant Automotive Care in Australia, it depicts how easily a car can be scratched when it is not properly washed.
